Towpath Half Marathon


Ohio Canal Corridor will be hosting the Towpath Half Marathon and 5-miler) on Sunday, April 1st, 2012 at 8:00 in the area surrounding Steelyard Commons and Lower Harvard. All proceeds from the event benefit Ohio Canal Corridor. See images from the event via the Brightroom link below.

Towpath Ten Ten



The Towpath Ten Ten is a 10K and 10 Mile race held in Valley View on Sunday June 17, 2012. The race course includes picturesque portion of a new Cleveland Metropark, a hidden valley where nature and industry have worked side by side for more than a century.

Towpath Marathon


Ohio Canal Corridor will be hosting the 21th annual Towpath Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at 8:00 am in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This event showcases some of the most beautiful segments of the historic Towpath Trail located between Akron and Cleveland. The Towpath Marathon is one of few marathons that take place in a national park, and many consider it a unique specialty race due to the setting and time of year in which it is run.

MISSION STATEMENT: To create a park system that follows the route of the historic Ohio Canal from Cleveland through Zoar to Dover/New Philadelphia by promoting historic preservation and interpretation expanded recreational opportunities and sensitive economic developments.

Trilogy Challenge

 

The Trilogy Challenge is a three event series held by the Ohio Canal Corridor. The three race events include a Half Marathon and 5-Miler on April 1, a 10K and 10 Miler on June 17, and a Half Marathon, 10K and Full Marathon on October 7.

Towpath Trail

 

The Towpath Trail is a historic landmark. It was constructed in the flood plain between the Erie Canal and the Cuyahoga River and has survived for decades. It is frequently walked, biked, and ran is the home of the official Towpath Marathon.
